We've Got a Crawler!

We are overjoyed with Robbie accomplishing this milestone! Crawling was one of those milestones that we would have to just wait and see if he did or not. Something that I've prayed for every day for over 8 months. I can't wait to baby proof our house and start chasing this kiddo around!

I mentioned earlier that Robbie got a CAT scan in October. Great news is that his leg is in the hip socket and there is not a chronic infection in the bone. Both were on the table because of past sonogram and xray reports. On the down side, the socket is still abnormal. Robbie will go back in a brace at night to try to help his femoral bone form in the socket properly. It's the next stage of the Pavlik Harness, it's all Velcro. Without the brace, and as Robbie grows, there's a possibility that the bone could grow out of socket. He'll get more xrays in a couple of months to see if there's improvement and what the next steps might be. When we were at this appointment to get the news, Robbie was sitting up and twisting his body as if he wanted to get down on his hands and knees. I showed the surgeon what he was doing and and he said it's quite possible that Robbie would learn to crawl despite his low muscle tone and abnormal socket. He said, we just have to wait and see. Just a few, short weeks later, our little man figured how to move from sitting to getting on his hands and knees, to scooting backwards, to getting back into a sitting position and finally to crawling forward :)

What a great gift from God, a true blessing to be thankful for this week! Thank you all for your continued prayers.
