We're fully adjusted to our new norm for a while. Robbie is completely off pain meds and finding new ways to play again. He hasn't complained about the cast at all verbally. I'm really surprised that he hasn't asked 'what happened' or 'take it off.' But you can tell it frustrates him at times, like when he wants to turn over and sit up more. We think that he probably knows why he has it but that it's not a forever thing. He might be wearing a big ass cast but our little guy is making the best of it!
It's amazing to see how things have changed in just a week too. These last 2 weeks he's mostly sat in our arms or in a chair. We watched A LOT of movies (mostly Toy Story 1, 2, 3 over and over and over again). But over the weekend, his old personality started shining through again. On Friday Robbie started squirming in his chairs. In fear of him falling out, I asked if he wanted to get down, to which he replied 'okay' (btw he doesn't say yes...it's either 'no' or 'okay'). So I put him on the floor just to see what he would do. The first day he just laid on a pillow on his tummy but by Sunday he started scooting and rolling over to his side and crawling. He's so happy now that he's reunited with all his trucks and cars on the floor again.
The big surprise I mentioned in an earlier post isn't here yet but it's coming! We got confirmation today. We're SUPER excited about it and we hope he loves it! Sorry for the suspense my friends. :)
