Reflux Sux

There are lots of things we're doing to help with Robbie's reflux - prevacid medicine, burping him multiple times, keeping him upright 30 minutes after feedings and having him sleep on his RES-Q Infant Wedge and Sling. AKA Robbie's Mountain Climber.

At first I was a little hesitant to give it a try because it's kinda intimidating and it doesn't look comfortable but it really does work for him. Before the wedge, we had Robbie sleeping upright in his boppy in his crib (at the hospital) but he would wake up coughing and crying about every 20 minutes. The only way to get him to sleep for longer periods of time was to have him upright against our chests. With the wedge, he's now sleeping 3-4 hours at a time. It's been a life saver for us but we're trying really hard to use it only at night. I don't mind moving him around on different things throughout the day. Sometimes we get him on it during the day but only as a last resort. He just sleeps so peacefully on it!

On a different note, does anyone else's house look like this? We have all our "tricks" lined up in the living room for convenience (btw in no particular order). My house is totally unrecognizable now. I mean, the layout and the walls look familiar, but where did all this STUFF come from?!

  1. Isn't it amazing how quickly such a little person takes over your house! And they need so much stuff for their outings away from the house, too!
